Seniors at Home Village of Dunlap Groundbreaking

Yesterday at 1 PM several future homeowners, partners, and New Hope employees gathered to celebrate the groundbreaking of the SAH Village of Dunlap. The weather held up beautifully and while it was warm, one of the homeowners noted that there is a constant breeze that blows through the valley. Our sign arrived and was installed in time for the celebration.

Several guest speakers talked about how important projects such as ours were to the health of their community. We are so appreciative of the comments offerred by each person who spoke. On the agenda were:

  • Ron Follett, Pastor of Dunlap Seventh Day Adventist Church
  • Glenn Barker, Chairman & CEO of Citizens Tri-County Bank
  • Diane White, Housing Director from Southeast Tennessee Development District
  • Russell Meade, President, Founder, CEO of New Hope Construction Inc.
  • John Byczkowski, Assistant VP, Communications of Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati
  • George Wagner, Mayor - City of Dunlap
  • Howard Hatcher, Executive Director of Sequatchie County/Dunlap Chamber of Commerce
  • Helen Ickes - Local Coordinator, New Hope Construction Inc.
  • Gerald Casson, Pastor Dunlap First United Methodist Church
  • MC - Kurt Wissehr, Dunlap Volunteer

L to R: Glenn Barker, Russell Meade, John Byczkowski,

Howard Hatcher, George Wagner, and Diane White

Everyone enjoyed ice cold water provided by Federal Home Loan Bank and NHC, and cookies.
The future homeowners located their individual lots and could see what a beautiful view they will have from their front porches.

Thanks to everyone who made this event a success! And especially to the Dunlap Tribune for the great publicity.
